Sex Pistols is a punk band formed in London in 1975, considered responsible for having initiated the movement punk in the UK and inspire many musicians from punk and alternative rock. Although the first stage only lasted two and a half and she produced only four singles and one studio album "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols, is recognized as one of the most influential bands in the history of music popular.

Sex Pistols members were originally Johnny Rotten, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock. Matlock was replaced by Sid Vicious in early 1977. With the entrepreneur as manager Malcolm McLaren, the band organized disputes captivated Britain. Its concerts often were confronted with difficulties with the organizers and the authorities, and public appearances often ended in chaos. His 1977 single "God Save the Queen", which attacked the British social conformity and respect for the crown, precipitated the "last and largest wave of moral pandemonium based on pop."

In January 1978, at the end of a turbulent U.S. tour, Rotten left the band announced its dissolution. In the following months, the three remaining members of the band recorded a few songs for the movie version of McLaren in the history of the band, The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle. Vicious died of a heroin overdose in February 1979. In 1996, Rotten, Jones, Cook and Matlock reunited for the Filthy Lucre Tour, since 2002, have reunited for tours and concerts on several occasions. On February 24, 2006, Sex Pistols were inducted into the Hall of Fame Rock, but they refused to attend the ceremony, calling the museum "a piss stain."
